VICTORIA THORNTON

B.Sc., GradDip Prof. Psych, MPsych (Ed & Dev).

Victoria is a developmentally trained psychologist dedicated to empowering children, adolescents, and families with the tools to navigate life’s challenges. She offers a personalised and compassionate approach to therapy, drawing on evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and play-based interventions to support each client’s unique needs.

With broad experience across schools, hospitals, community health services, and private practice, Victoria brings a deep understanding of diverse settings and client needs. She also facilitates workshops for parents and educators, with a focus on trauma-informed care, secure attachment, and mental health promotion.

Victoria’s areas of special interest include:

  • Anxiety and school readiness

  • Parent capacity-building and early intervention programs

  • Trauma and attachment-related difficulties

  • Cognitive and educational assessments

She embraces a systemic approach to care, believing that therapy is most effective when it involves collaboration with families, schools, and other key supports in a child’s life.

Victoria practices in alignment with the Child Safe Standards (updated 1 July 2022), ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people in her care.
